2012 Goals, NOT Resolutions!

I am not a huge fan of resolutions because I tend not to hang onto them. I remember breaking my 2011 resolution last year on February 19th. Not so good. Less than two months into the year...gross.

So this year, I am setting GOALS. These, in my brain, are for some reason less restricting than resolutions. I don't feel so tied to it, I guess. Like I'm working toward something good in the future, rather than creating a new rule for myself based on the past. I don't know if that makes sense to everyone else, but it does to me, and I'm gonna go with whatever I think might work.

First, I aim to break, or at least depreciate, my odd bad habits. I saw depreciate and necessarily break because a. I can't think of a more appropriate word and b. breaking it would mean being less bored, and that would probably mean getting a different job, and that...is not happening at the moment. I will forgive myself occasionally, but by 2013 I would like it to be broken, gone, never even a temptation.

Next, I would like to be healthier in 2012 than ever before. Well maybe not ever...I was probably a pretty healthy kid. But I want to look fitter than ever before. I have a good motivator for this one- I won a trip to Arizona where I will be spending a week with my boyfriend by resort pools, and I'd like to look my best.

Lastly, I want to spend more energy doing creative things, like home improvement or craft projects, and of course blogging! I would like to build up my posts, gain followers, and maybe even host my own giveaway someday, as a tribute to all the hosters of the giveaways I've been entering.

Oh, and I didn't win any cash before the new year, like I said I wanted to, so that's a goal for 2012. I want to win at least $10,000 and move in with my boyfriend and take Rupert with us and adopt our Corgi puppy. But all that is really not controlled by me, and actually seems like more of a dream than a goal, so I didn't really put it on my little mental list. (It's in the back of my mind, of course).

So that's what I've got on tap for 2012. Wish me luck!
