TrueBody Soap {Review and Earth Day Giveaway}

Don't you dare write off bar soap before you have tried TrueBody. It might just be your soap savior.

I have been using TrueBody Facial Soap for over a month now, and it is not like any bar soap I have used before. I have very sensitive skin; it's acne prone lately, and can feel dry during the changing of the seasons. I wear makeup daily, and have to be careful about what I choose and what I use to take it off to avoid breakouts. But I am so happy to report that TrueBody has so far has been nothing but good to my skin.

TrueBody is, as implied by its name, true to the needs of your body. The ingredients are all-natural, so the end result is a non-abrasive, gentle, unscented product that is safe for even the most sensitive skin. Are you allergic to something? Simply check the product page and find it completely broken down by ingredient and purpose, so you can relax and know exactly what your skin will be exposed to.

I love their new facial soap (I left a bar in the shower and based on how rapidly it's disappearing, methinks my sister may love it too). It creates a rich, luxurious lather that glides on and feels completely soothing. It is unscented, which means no perfumes to cover a natural scent- which is what I imagine beeswax smells like, very plain and barely noticeable, but not technically "nothing." I couldn't figure out how to take a picture of it, but I lathered up the TrueBody soap in one hand and my previous bar soap in the other and the difference is inspiring- TrueBody wins the lather competition. And ladies, it also removes makeup (but do keep it out of your eyes) and men, it can be used as facial shaving cream. Above all else, it leaves my skin feeling healthy and squeaky clean.

I also love the company's commitment to their mission. Although Whole Foods asked for a scented line, they said "sorry" and stuck to their unscented roots. The product is locally based and made in Vermont. It's biodegradable, which means no chemicals running down your drain and it's safe to use outdoors when camping. The packaging is recyclable and encourages you to continue the process when you're done with it.

Thanks to TrueBody, I actually look forward to washing my face and taking off my makeup! It's like an all-natural, mini-massage for your face every day.
Overall, I recommend this product and TrueBody wants to offer you the chance to try it for yourself.

  2. The best thing about this product is that it is unscented. We have allergies and asthma and scents only make them worse. We wish people would realize this when swimming in perfumes before going out in public!

  17. I like that the manufacturer uses coconut oil instead of palm oil and thus helps preventing rainforests in Malaysia and Indonesia from being cut down to set up palm oil plantations.

  22. I haven't use this brand before but I always try to use natural soaps, one of the reasons being I live near the ocean and a lot of our drain water ends up in it one way or the other. Also, I love being able to bring the same great stuff I use at home with me out camping and not have to worry.

    I love the new TrueBody Facial Soap. I love that it's unscented and only has 8 ingredients, all of which I can pronounce. I also like that their other soaps only have 5 ingredients. It's important to use natural products not only because they are better for you but because they are healthier for the environment. Thanks for the giveaway.

  28. I have sensitive but dry skin so I love finding products like True Body that are all natural and are surely going to be better for my skin and treat it gently too. Good find!

  29. I am glad to see this is biodegradable. Several members of our family backpack and camp. It was always hard to find a soap product we wanted to use when out on the trail. Our choices were very limited. The one we found had a peppermint fragrance which wasn't always appreciated. I'll be looking for TrueBody soaps for home and on the trail.
    Thanks for the review.
